Oh, the breakdancing
Practice tomorrow minus Brandon, who will be in Iowa. We'll go over all our stuff and probably work on some lyrics as well.
Tight.
Oh, how I miss that show. Oh, wait, no I don't. Stupid flaunting of 1980's opulence.
Anyway, we spent time last night working pretty heavily on new material (eg. One song Brandon had written quite a while ago and another that Greg and I had jammed on over the past month), and they sound good. Some tinkering will have to be made on my part on one of the songs while the other is masterfully directed by Brandon and his superior brain. Brain!
There probably won’t be another practice until next week due to Bluebottle’s schedule, a show this weekend, but it’s good to see that this band is becoming more and more serious about writing and playing.
Priorities: 1) Practice the hell out of every song we have written and will write, obviously; 2) Take over Russia; 3) Record more rough demos for ourselves; 4) Discover our gift for global finance; 5) Spend some time at Eddie’s (a friend of our friends) studio with Greg Altop, Terry and Eddie laying down tracks for a demo; 6) Mount a full-scale assault, in true rock fashion (buttless chaps), on any venue that dares let us play; 7) Play shows every single freakin’ day until Greg’s eyes explode, or implode or plode.
That is all. Go hither.
There has been a lot of talk about the future of just about everything, and we, the gentleman of Hospital; Breakdance! Explosion., are examining the furthering of our band. As it stands we have practices in my parents’ basement, where I currently reside, and I have every intention of moving out in the coming two to three months. So, we’re looking into some new options. Brandon has suggested a practice space in the city, and, since he just signed a lease for an apartment in the city and I am looking for something similar, this sounds like the most plausible may for this band to grow, prosper and begin the culling of thousands of crickets (I am an asshole). Currently, we and our good friends in Ryan’s Hope are in deep discussions about this space, and are awaiting a response from the blokes in Greg and Brandon’s other band, Bluebottle, as to their interest as well. Hopefully, by the time I move into a new place, and well after Brandon moves, we will have had many a practice in said space. Lastly, we are still looking for a way to showcase our lake of talent. There are many possible shows for us to jump onto, but none that are anymore solid than my overwhelming appetite for human flesh (a pipedream, really).
With all that said, I’m going to get back to cataloguing a crap-ton of magazines. Hooray for temp. work! …or some crap.
Brandon and Greg recorded two demo versions of songs, sans drums. Helps me a lot to listen to them more often.
Great practice today. Got through all our six, working songs - two with vocals, four without).
Pictures are back and looking really nice.
That's about it for now. I'm out.
We're currently working on landing our first, second and third shows; because, playing shows is fun. Also, lots of practice this week and next. Perhaps more information soon.
Rock music is tight. Ear plugs are key. Ringing lasts for days. Photography is an art. "Your laughter is so full of mirth." What ever happened to Crash Test Dummies? VH1 knows. Mmm Mmm, Mmm Mmm. Chili's. ENDLESS CHIPS AND SALSA! Starbucks. Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
Uhhh, we're working on some new material, honing other stuff, and trying to figure out where we're going to record a demo. Also, the first groupings of photos have been taken by Patrick, and are excellent.
This is all.
